On February 24-28, 2020, a Kazakh delegation consisting of B.B. Teltaev, President of the Kazakhstan Road Research Institute, and A.ZH. Masanov, Director of the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety and President of the Kazakhstan National Association of Professional Engineers and Consultants, visited the Cavendish Laboratory, Department of Physics, Cambridge Central Asian Forum and Cambridge University. The Cavendish Laboratory is famous for its Nobel Laureates who have made significant contributions to the development of science.
The visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the scientific circles of Great Britain and Kazakhstan in the road construction industry. Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory is one of the leading ones in Europe and the world, and cooperation with British partners and the transfer of state-of-the-art technologies will help bring Kazakhstan's road industry to a qualitatively new level, using the experience gained as part of the implementation of the Nurly Zhol state infrastructure development program in 2020-2025.
Also, during this visit, the results of bitumen testing at low temperatures were presented and discussed for the first time.
