On March 11, 2020, at the initiative of the expert center "Movement without Danger" (Russian Federation), a round table dedicated to the prevention of child traffic injuries was held in Nur-Sultan. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yandex.Taxi companies, UNICEF, non-governmental organizations.
Unfortunately, child traffic injuries are currently a serious problem for our country. So, in 2018, 3,739 minors were injured on the roads, and 197 children and teenagers died.
Arystan Masanov Zholanovich, President of the Kazakhstan National Association of Professional Engineers and Consultants, made a presentation on the safety of children on the Roads. Mr. Masanov presented the "Star Rating for Schools" program within the framework of the IRAP highway safety assessment program, pointed out the benefits that the application of this program can bring to improve the safety of territories around schools and along the routes of schoolchildren from home to school.
