Road Safety and Modeling—Moving Toward a Safe System Approach

From June 22 to 26, Arystan Massanov and Zhandos Amanbayev, representatives of the Kazakhstan National Association of Professional Engineers and Consultants, participated in the conference “Road Safety and Modeling— Moving Toward a Safe System Approach.” The conference was held at the historic University of Naples Federico II in the beautiful and unique city of Naples, with the participation of leading professors and practitioners in the field of road safety: Luciana Iorio, Mohamed Abdel-Ati, Boris Antich, James Bradford, Antonino Tripodi, Edoardo Mazzia, Daniel Bianconi, and others. The conference featured numerous substantive and important presentations relevant to the industry. The conference also included a meeting of the Working Group on Road Safety of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), where many substantive presentations were made and to which our representatives contributed. We thank Professor Alfonso Montella for his excellent organization of the conference.
